Introduction

The Library plays a central role in enhancing the quality of academic and research environment in Education institutions. Our College has a well-maintained library, having around 46683 books with latest magazines and Journals. Area of the Library is 2585.4 sq. feet. The library used Vriddhi V2.1 ILMS till 2020-21. However, for the year 2021-22 and 2022-23, the library has maintained the data manually. The new ILMS Campus 360 Library Software is installed in Feb. 2023 and will be fully functional soon. Reading room facility is also available with individual study zones for staff members as well as for students. The College library has a linkage with Panchshil Sarvajanik Vachanalay, Manmad. Under the NLIST Programme an access to 6000+ e-Journals and 31,35,000+ ebooks are made available to readers. This facility is being provided to the students & staff members. The library timing is from 9.00 A.M. to 5.30 P.M.

    The library is located at center place of the campus occupying an area of about 2585.4 sq. feet. and separate reading room are available for boys and girls with a seating capacity of 50 students. With a view to maximizing the efficiency of the library services, the library has been divided into various sections. Open Access facility is available in the Study Room Section, Home Issue Section, Reference Section and Periodical Section.

    Sections:

    Reading Room Section – Books are issued to students for use in the reading room only. Reading rooms provide separate compartment section for each user.

    Book Circulation Section– Books are given for home issue for seven days. Students are provided a Borrower Card for home issuing of books.

    Reference Section– The Reference section of the Library includes the rich collection of reference books, which prove useful for research as it provide quick and accessible information on range of topics. These materials are usually used to find facts or provide broad overviews of topics. They should not be used as major sources for papers or other projects. Dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc. are some of the most common reference materials found in the Library’s Reference Collection.

    Internet Section – The library subscribes to BSNL Fiber Optic Connection with 50 Mbps Internet speed. Four computer terminals have been made available to the students and research scholars. The internet facility is provided for educational purposes only.

    Periodicals Section – These section houses includes journals, magazines, and newspapers. The library subscribes around 33 print journals, magazines and 17 newspapers in English, Marathi and Hindi. This section has open access for students and faculty.

    The library has a vast collection of print resources that include text books, reference books, books for general reading, journals, magazines, newspapers, etc. The library also has a collection of CDs and Videos.

    Over the past few years, a number of techniques and related standards have been developed which allow documents to be created and distributed in electronic form. Hence to cope with the present situation, librarians are shifting towards new media, namely electronic resources for their collection developments that the documents of users are better fulfilled. The e- resources have made a vast impact on the collections of college libraries. These are more useful due to inherent capabilities for manipulation and searching, providing information access is cheaper to acquiring information resources, savings in storage and maintenance etc. and sometimes the electronic form is the only alternative. Our college library continuously provides various electronic resources such as e-books, e-journals, e-theses, e-dissertations, electronic databases, e-videos etc.

    Library Committee is an advisory body to advise the authority on the policy matters relating to the management of the Library. The policy matters on which they make recommendations would include finalization of Library annual budget, sub-allocation of Library budget to different categories of expenditure like, books, journals required by each Department, and for equipment and staff requirement, finalization of library rules etc.

  • i. Library will remain open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on Monday to Friday and 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on Saturday.
  • ii. Every student must possess an Identity Card while making use of library services and facilities and has to produce when demanded by the library staff.
  • iii. Every student should get his ID issued from the library after producing his/her admission receipt to the library staff. No ID will be issued after the prescribed date or period. In special cases or under genuine circumstances, the ID will be issued after obtaining the principal’s permission and paying the requisite fine. 
  • iv. In case a student loses his/her ID, it should be reported to the library.
  • v. Every student can borrow one book at a time for the period of seven days. Thereafter a fine of Rs. 2/- per day will be charged on every delay.
  • vi. Books and other reading materials issued to a student may be renewed only once provided there is no reservation against it.
  • vii. Users must handle the books carefully. Books that are lost, torn, damaged or mutilated (i.e. tearing of pages, marking it with pen or pencil and the like) can be dealt with seriously. One and half times of the original price or more will be charged for such documents or may be asked to replace it with the latest edition.
  • viii. No lost document shall be accepted once the recovery is made.
  • ix. Users are requested to check the document being borrowed is complete and no pages are missing from it before they leave the circulation counter. Such defects should be brought to the notice of the librarian or library personnel. If such defect is found at the time of the return user be accountable for it and will be charged accordingly.
  • x. The reference books, rare books, newspapers, current issues or bound volumes of periodicals are intended to be used in the library premises only. In special cases the librarian has discretion to issue it to the library member.
  • xi. Newly arrived books shall be displayed on the ‘New Arrivals Stand’ or showcase for a specific period after its processing and till that time they cannot be issued. However users can reserve it in advance.
  • xii. Users can photocopy or print the document within the limits of copyright act and shall be solely responsible in case of its violation. xiii. Silence and strict discipline should be maintained in the library. Indiscipline may lead to disciplinary action.
  • xiv. Books and other reading materials will be issued to the students as per the circulation timetable.
  • xv. Library membership is not transferable. The student should not give his/her ID to others to borrow the books from the library. Library membership shall be cancelled in case of misuse of the ID Card.
  • xvi. Use of mobiles, iPods and other musical instruments are strictly prohibited in the library premises.
  • xvii. Use of eatables in the library is strictly prohibited.
  • xviii. Students should take utmost care to keep the library clean.
  • xix. Students should not harm any instrument or furniture in any way. Such action may lead to suspension of library membership.
  • xx. Library Rules and Regulations shall be modified from time to time and shall be binding to all concerned.
  • xxi. Students should not argue with the counter staff in any case. They can approach the librarian for their complaints and suggestions or can drop it in the suggestion box.
